Carabiner Communications Partners with
Southeastern Medical Device Association

Agency Will Help Promote SEMDA’s 2008 Investor Conference and Educational Forum

ATLANTA (February 12, 2008) – Carabiner Communications, a public relations firm that serves start-up and high-growth technology companies, today announced that it has joined forces with the Southeastern Medical Device Association (SEMDA), a non-profit trade association that supports and promotes medical device companies in the Southeastern United States. As part of its services, Carabiner will provide media outreach and communications support for SEMDA’s Investor Conference and Educational Forum, to be held in Atlanta on Thursday, March 13, 2008.

“SEMDA has been incredibly fortunate to have the professionals at Carabiner involved with our 2008 Investor Conference,” said Lynn Hood, membership chair for SEMDA. “Carabiner’s in-depth knowledge of public relations best practices for specialized B2B fields has dramatically increased the media attention being given to the conference and we’re on target to sell it out. Best of all, they have a real ‘can do’ attitude that has not only gotten the job done, it’s been accomplished on a shoestring budget.”

SEMDA’s Investor Conference draws venture capitalists from around the country and highlights the top existing and emerging medical device companies in the Southeast. Carabiner’s team of PR and marketing professionals has already begun working to increase awareness of the event and draw media and investor attendance.

“Carabiner is excited to work with SEMDA to help increase the profile of this important event,” said Peter Baron, principal of Carabiner Communications. “SEMDA offers a unique forum for the burgeoning medical device industry in the Southeast. Its Investor Conference showcases the premier established and emerging companies in the region, and we look forward to using our skills to assist SEMDA in building awareness among its core audiences. We also look forward to working with SEMDA on a number of other projects down the road.”
